Covid-19

Peoples Oakland Staff, Members and Visitors,

As you are aware, the CDC announced that it was lifting the masking requirement for fully vaccinated individuals outdoors and in most indoor settings. Appreciating that this announcement has raised many questions and concerns, including how this may impact Peoples Oakland’s program and services, I want to clarify Peoples Oakland position on the matter.

Peoples Oakland will continue to require all staff, members, and visitors to wear masks while in and on Peoples Oakland grounds. This is in line with Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines permitting businesses or organizations, to keep their current mandates regarding facial coverings in place to provide an additional layer of protection for their employees, consumers, or visitors.

With vaccinations and testing in place across the region, and the number of COVID cases on the decline in Allegheny County, we are steadily moving toward herd immunity. But until that day arrives, it is important that we all continue to do everything we can to keep both Peoples Oakland staff, members, and the greater communities safe by reducing the risk of anyone at Peoples Oakland contracting COVID–19.

We will continue to keep you updated as and when new information becomes available. Best wishes to all for a safe and enjoyable summer!

Best,

Lezetta L. Cox
