"I think one of the biggest things Peoples Oakland did was offer me support that wasn’t being offered in other areas of my life. They believed in me, that I had the capability to stay out of the hospital, the capability to work. They supported me while I figured these things out for myself. I have an amount of support that I never had before Peoples Oakland existed."
Katie, Member since 2017
"I have assisted clients with linking to Peoples Oakland to members because of all the social services, health/wellness that they offer, and the staff's willingness to assist clients with disabilities to flourish in the community. I would continue to highly recommend Peoples Oakland, support their endeavors, and ask for other supporters to donate funds to such must-needed services."
Kim Davis, Service Coordinator
"Peoples Oakland was my first experience as a social worker and I am so thankful that it was. Both staff and members alike helped me build a strong foundation as an intern that I have been able to apply in everything that I've done since leaving. Every time I stepped into the building I learned something new. It is such a wonderful environment for recovery and learning."
Darelle Cowley, MSW Intern
Does Our Mission Resonate With you?
Peoples Oakland welcomes financial supporters who believe in us, our mission, and our members. Peoples Oakland’s Board of Directors is now requesting large gifts from foundations, corporations and individuals to support our pioneering work in assisting mental health consumers with their recovery goals. Gifts for support of operations and special projects are always welcome and acknowledged. Some of our current needs include technology upgrades, development of innovative programs, enhancing peer training and program participation, wellness center equipment and capacity building. In addition, bequests and gifts of securities are very welcome.Donate
